Peng obtained his PhD in polymer/inorganic composites at the University of Leeds. He has previously worked as a KTP associate at Heriot-Watt University and Recircle Ltd on the closed-loop recycling of waste rubber tyres using microorganisms to create materials that are potentially useful for society. Through his roles, he has gained valuable experience working at the interface between academia and industry. He joined the Green Materials Laboratory in April 2021 to work on the chemical recycling of multi-materials, with a focus on depolymerising credit cards.
