Eloise Billington

Eloise is a Postdoctoral Research Associate who joined the Shaver group in September 2022 and completed her PhD on the synthesis of sustainable polymer composites. She now works within the EPSRC Manufacturing Research Hub in Sustainable Engineering of Plastics (SEP), where her research focuses on design for reuse and durability, as well as the disassembly of multi-material systems. Prior to this, Eloise studied at the University of Nottingham from 2017 to 2021, graduating with an MSci in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry. During her third year, she undertook an assessed industrial placement in early-stage drug discovery at GlaxoSmithKline, before completing her Master’s project under the supervision of Professor Luisa Ciano, developing a spin tag to enable the study of carbohydrate-active enzymes using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy.
